Polokwane will build a new stadium for the FIFA World Cup in 2010 on the ground of the Peter-Mokaba sports centre. It is located 5 km away from the city centre, and provides a capacity of 45000 seats.
The province Limpopo will be encouraged about the stadium. In the province Limpopo there are the most announced soccer players of South Africa.
The sports complex is named after the deceased Peter Mokaba, a political activist during the Apartheid. He was born in Polokwane where he grew up, too. He was famous for his figting spirit and his charisma during the Apartheid.
